Clean Water and Sanitation:

Clean Water and Sanitation is a major concern within of government organizations around the globe. Many communities struggle with access to clean water supplies and sanitation systems. An effective land administration could put certain rules in place to preserve certain segments of land in order to preserve natural water reservoirs or wetlands. This would allow the communities to have access to safe and clean drinking water.

Affordable and Clean Energy:

Affordable and Clean Energy is in high demand all over the world. In many places people live without electricity, this may put a strain on the daily lives of citizens. A proper land administration system could ensure that land is delegated for the use of clean energy. Also give incentives for landowners to construct affordable clean energy platforms, that may benefit communities as well as produce an income.

Infrastructure and Industry:

Developing infrastructure and Industry is a common goal to any land administration system. In order to develop further, land administration systems must allow for the expansion and construction of Infrastructure and industry. They can allow this by having proper laws in place for boundaries of infrastructure and proper systems to allow the expropriation of land in order for construction to take place.

Reflective Blog 2 Dylan Staveley-Watson Cadastral Surveying is the specialty of establishing and re-establishing property boundaries. A Cadastral Surveyor will attempt to create and re-create boundaries in a way that is acceptable by the laws and will establish these boundaries by creating legal documents,   plans of survey and placing physical monuments in the ground. It is important that the surveyor strictly follows these laws in the chance that a legal dispute was to occur between adjacent land owners. If the case were to be brought to civil court   the surveyors job is to act as non partial interpretation to give a professional opinion of where the boundary may be and his/her practices may be called to question. Over the past few weeks of our Land Administration class we have covered topics discussing the history behind Canada’s settlement and land administration practices. This included topics such as water boundaries, coastal zones and indigenous lands. Since Canada was settled by European fishermen, farmers and fur traders the different types of land systems were used to create new plots of land all over Canada. Along the St. Lawrence in Quebec early settlers from France used the Seigneurial System. This system was land divided into long narrow rectangles facing towards the waters edge in this case the St. Lawrence river. Due to the shape of the piece of land given.
