The case had been brought to court because a boundary survey that was completed by Keith Watson and was thought to be wrong by John Chisholm. In thinking so Mr. Chisholm decided to sue Mr. Watson for negligence. Leading up to the case Chisholm had gone through some trouble in purchasing the land that was adjacent to his property. He was later informed that another party had purchased the land and had completed two severances on the property adjacent to his. Reflective Blog 2 Dylan Staveley-Watson Cadastral Surveying is the specialty of establishing and re-establishing property boundaries. A Cadastral Surveyor will attempt to create and re-create boundaries in a way that is acceptable by the laws and will establish these boundaries by creating legal documents,   plans of survey and placing physical monuments in the ground. It is important that the surveyor strictly follows these laws in the chance that a legal dispute was to occur between adjacent land owners. If the case were to be brought to civil court   the surveyors job is to act as non partial interpretation to give a professional opinion of where the boundary may be and his/her practices may be called to question. Many communities struggle with access to clean water supplies and sanitation systems. An effective land administration could put certain rules in place to preserve certain segments of land in order to preserve natural water reservoirs or wetlands. This would allow the communities to have access to safe and clean drinking water. Affordable and Clean Energy: Affordable and Clean Energy is in high demand all over the world. In many places people live without electricity, this may put a strain on the daily lives of citizens. A proper land administration system could ensure that land is delegated for the use of clean energy.
